Every scholar at Comet Nation now has their AVID Binder thanks to our AVID/AVID Excel scholars who set up our binders for our school wide launch this week. Our AVID Binders are our Comet organization system and include a pencil pouch (with pencils, eraser, pen and highlighter), Agenda book/planner, dividers (for each class), and ruled lined paper.

COMET NATION "BACK TO SCHOOL: ORIENTATION" was a rousing success! So wonderful to see all the smiles and feel the joy of coming back to school. Scholars received their schedules, lockers and locks, bought merchandise, acquired their house teams, visited with teachers and staff and had fun.
This is how we do it at Mills Middle School!

Over the past few days, our staff has been fully engaged in lesson internalization, collaborating and planning to ensure every lesson is purposeful, engaging, and aligned to student success.
We were also honored to welcome some special guests!
Our School Champion, Dr. Bell, stopped by to encourage our team, reminding us that while this is a new school year, we are equipped, capable, and destined for greatness.
We also appreciated Dr. Freeman for taking the time to visit and reaffirm his commitment to supporting our staff and students throughout the year.
Together, we are building a strong foundation for success because we are One School, One Family, One Goal! 💛

What is AVID? AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination. It is an academic support program that prepares students for college eligibility and success. Last year, PCSSD AVID seniors earned $9M in scholarships! #ExpectBelieveSucceed
