Bear Pride on full display today! SHHS kicked off the first Pep Rally of the school year today in anticipation of the game against Maumelle tonight. Sophomores won both games! Spanish Classes have been so busy this week! They celebrated La Tomatina with a "tomato" fight, practiced numbers by looking at jerseys for Real Madrid vs FC Barcelona, and practiced Spanish names and letters. The learning never ends in Mrs. Martin's class!

Mr. Greens AP Art 2D Design classes are off to a great start! Students are studying color, balance, and complementary colors, and for this project they must balance colors found in the environment with a given Bear Traveler. Check out their amazing work.
PCSSD is partnering with the Academies of Central Arkansas and the Arkansas National Guard to connect students at each high school with more opportunities to enroll, enlist or be employed after graduation.
As part of the partnership, the Arkansas National Guard will:
🎓 Provide a Military Career Coach at each campus in the Academies of Central Arkansas network.
📚 Offer ASVAB testing and preparation to all 11th- and 12th-grade students.
🪖 Provide military pathway awareness programming highlighting educational benefits, leadership development and career opportunities.
🤝 Participate in the Academies Annual Career Expo, host tours of Camp Robinson and other partners, and coordinate Veterans Day and Military Recognition Day activities at each campus.

Even without internet access earlier this week, students in the Arkansas Children’s Academy of Business – Management/Marketing pathway stayed fully engaged. Mrs. Briggs challenged them to build the tallest free‑standing marshmallow tower.
“This was a great collaboration activity that also showcased who in each class steps up as leaders and who thinks outside the box,” Briggs said.
Congratulations to Reece Mills, Riley Smith, Shayla Nixon, and Harrison Merchant for building the tallest free‑standing tower at 19 inches.
Honorable mention goes to Kenyon Holt, Landon Toney, Asia Jackson, and Dawson Young for taking second place with a free‑standing tower at 18 inches.
