At Tuesday's PLC (Professional Learning Community) teachers were exploring the power of inquiry (questioning) specifically the positive impact higher level questioning has on our scholars in furthering their critical thinking as well as making lessons more rigorous and engaging. Teachers played the DOK (Depth of Knowledge) Game where they moved various texts to the corresponding DOK level. Kudos to Ms. Lyons, Ms. Powers and Ms. Hines for being the winners of the DOK Game. #learningisrequired #higherlevelquestioning #millsmiddleschoolcomets #pcssdproud

Last week 7th Grade AVID Scholars from around the district met at Lake Willastein to engage in some team building activities. Pictured here is the "introduction station" led by AVID Coordinator, Mr. Boaitey from Mills Middle School. Scholars created name tents and introduced themselves moving to another person every 30 seconds. Other stations included "arts and crafts," "kickball," "field games." Great time had by all! #avid4possibilty #pcssdproud #millsmiddleschoolcomets #teambuilding

Students in Ms. Knott's geography class have been learning about the continents. The class had a little fun earlier this week, to practice spatial awareness as it relates to geography. The students created a blindfolded drawing of the continents! Do you think you could do this task?
