Stephen Delaney likes reading newspapers on microfilm at the library. He enjoys the old political cartoons and Cynthia Howell/George Bentley stories covering past Arkansas K-12 education issues. Jon Kennedy is his favorite cartoonist but George Fisher is a close second.
One thing he's learned during the pandemic is just how crucial public education is for EVERYONE including those without school-age children. We all need healthy, safe, and functional public schools!
Thank you, Stephen, for your dedication to PCSSD!

Parents and Guardians,
In an effort to achieve math and literacy proficiency for students at Mills Middle School, we will continue to offer, and after school, Accelerated Learning Program beginning January 25th-April 1st, 2021. This program will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays and will begin once school is dismissed and until 5:30 pm. Students may participate in In-Person or Virtually. In order to help make Accelerated Learning available to all students, activity buses will be available to take In-person students home promptly at 5:30 pm. Pick up for car riders will be at the front of the building. A meal will be provided for students before each session.
Students will have the opportunity to work on their homework or assignments with teachers and other staff members. They may receive additional help in weak skill areas. There will also be stations to help with essential skills and test-taking skills in order to prepare for the upcoming ACT Aspire in April.
