Sylvan Hills High School Media Center and Book Club, under the direction of Mrs. Choat, partnered with the Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) to welcome a WITS Author (Writers in the School). Book Club members, Student Voice, and many other students had the opportunity to meet with Oscar Hokeah, author of Calling for a Blanket Dance. Hokeah read from his book, answered question, and discussed his writing process as he shared his book about Cherokee culture and growing up with different community customs.
