Good evening parents and guardians of Sylvan Hills. Tomorrow will be our first state standardized test of the year. We want to show everyone all the things we have learned at SHES this year. Please help us get off to a good start by making sure your student is at school on time with their chromebook charged. We know our students are going to Rock the Writing test, and we couldn't do it without you. Thank you! Have a wonderful evening

They will only need to return a signed permission slip by March 15th. In addition, they received information about our school Invention Competition! We hope to have LOTS of student participation (alpha students are required to participate as part of their curriculum). Invention presentations and judging will be March 28th! The top 3 inventions will get to host our school’s booth for the STEM event! We can’t wait to see all their creative ideas!

Today is Leap Day! Leap years exist because it actually takes the planet a little bit more than a year to orbit the sun. That time is rounded down to the 365 days we recognize as a typical year, those nearly six extra hours don't disappear. Leap years are added to account for the difference. The extra day keeps calendars and seasons from gradually falling out of sync and impacting harvesting, planting and other cycles based on the seasons. #pcssdproud #serveall
