🧬✋ 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀-𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆!
Coach Gilliland’s Biology students brought anatomy and engineering together by building cardboard hands using straws for bones and string for tendons. By pulling the strings, students modeled how muscles contract to move joints, just like in the human body. The project highlighted the Flexor Digitorum, the most powerful and bulky muscle in the forearm, which is responsible for bending the fingers. RHS students demonstrated how this muscle pulls on tendons in the forearm to move the finger bones, turning a complex concept into an interactive learning experience. #GoSenators #WeAreTheSenators #PCSSDproud
