PULASKI COUNTY, Ark. -- Sophomores and juniors have the chance to take part in an exciting opportunity that allows students to spend part of their school day on a college campus while earning high school and college credit at the same time.
Students accepted into these programs will attend UA–Pulaski Technical College (North Little Rock campus) for half of the school day—at no cost—while remaining enrolled at their home high school for the other half.
On Friday, February 6, 2026, UA–Pulaski Technical College will host its first-ever Career Institute Day, giving students an overview of the Career Institute programs available to them. These programs are designed for high school students who want hands-on learning, real-world career skills, and a head start on college and technical credentials.
Career Institute Programs Include:
Health Information Technology - Students learn medical terminology, patient record management, and common medical conditions. Certificate of Proficiency available
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Students gain foundational knowledge in managing patient medical records, medical terminology, common medical conditions, and treatments.
Opportunity to earn a Certificate of Proficiency
Advanced Manufacturing -Prepares students for careers in automated manufacturing through training in industrial electronics, controls programming, equipment repair, and robotics.
Welding - Instruction follows American Welding Society guidelines, covering multiple welding processes, joint design, and metal composition. Opportunity to earn a Certificate of Proficiency and AWS D1.1 Structural Code 3G
HVAC-R - Develops skills for careers with heating and air contractors, service companies, or self-employment. Opportunity to earn a Certificate of Proficiency and EPA 608 Universal Certification (Core, I, II, III)
Cybersecurity - Designed for students interested in protecting and analyzing data networks and cybersecurity operations. Opportunity to earn a Certificate of Proficiency, A+, Security+, and CCNA certifications
