This week, we’re spotlighting Mrs. Stephanie DeWitt’s kindergarten class at William Jefferson Clinton Elementary. Students recently completed an AVID jigsaw activity on story elements. Each group became “experts” on characters, setting, beginning, middle, or end, and then taught their classmates what they learned.

“It’s been wonderful watching them collaborate, think critically, and deepen their understanding of how stories work! Way to go, scholars,” Mrs. DeWitt shared.

Bus Driver Safety Awareness Week spotlight 🚌Tamika Parker!
Tamika Parker drives for Sylvan Hills Junior High and High School and is in her second term. She starts each day with a smile and a mission to uplift students and be a source of light.
🌱 Outside of work, Tamika runs a vegan food truck, cheers on her son at Sylvan Hills football games, and works as a licensed cosmetologist.
🗣 “Knowing they saw the Light of Christ in me and it has spread to them is so rewarding!” Tamika said.

Oakbrooke PTO has an immediate opening in our Executive Board as a Treasurer for the remainder of this school year. In order to serve in this capacity, you must be a current member of the PTO (we can help you to join ASAP) and also have a current PCSSD Volunteer card (we can help with this as well). Please email Dr. Truslow (ktruslow@pcssd.org) or call school office ASAP if you would like to serve in our school in this role. Our Board are wonderful parent volunteers who are needing your help in supporting our students and teachers.
