PULASKI COUNTY, Ark. – Four schools within the Pulaski County Special School District are recognized by the Arkansas Department of Education for their achievement on the spring 2022 ACT Aspire tests.

Baker Elementary and Chenal Elementary are both being recognized for performing in the top 5% of all schools in Arkansas. Baker Elementary and Sherwood Elementary are being recognized for being in the top 5% of growth of all schools in Arkansas. Meanwhile, Sylvan Hills Elementary is being recognized for being in the top 6-10% of growth of all schools in Arkansas.

State lawmakers implemented the Arkansas School Recognition Program to provide financial awards to schools that experience high student performance or growth in the amount of $100 per student for schools in the top 5% and $50 per student for schools in the top 6-10%.

The ACT Aspire tests are taken by students in 3rd grade through 10th grade and test students in literacy, math, and science.
