LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Pulaski County Special School District celebrates Joe T. Robinson High School Choral Director Edmond Hampton, who was named the Region 2 Senior High Distinguished Director of the Year by the Arkansas Choral Directors Association (ArkCDA).

The honor was announced during the Senior High All-Region Clinic on Nov. 8. To be eligible, recipients must have served as a choral director in Arkansas for at least five years and earned Division I ratings at Choral Performance Assessment for at least three of the last five years, among other requirements.

“I'm incredibly grateful to my colleagues for choosing me, and I don't take this moment for granted,” Hampton said. “Region 2 is a great place of camaraderie and wonderful people, and I'm glad that I get to work with you all.”

Region Chair Maggie Ashburn praised Hampton’s dedication and excellence.

“Mr. Hampton has done an excellent job getting his students ready for contest and is one of the best directors I know,” Ashburn said.
