By volunteering in our schools you are making a difference in the lives of our students, providing needed support to teachers and staff, and helping with the many activities and events during the school year. The schools and students benefit from your enthusiasm, input and support through your involvement.

Volunteer Protocol for 2021-2022 School Year

In our ongoing efforts to safeguard the health of all students and staff, volunteers will be required to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test within the last 24 hours in order to enter and remain in the building for more than 15 minutes for volunteer purposes. If a volunteer plans to be in the building multiple days, he/she must provide a negative COVID-19 test result every two weeks. In lieu of a negative COVID-19 test, volunteers may present proof of full vaccination. Additionally, volunteers must wear a KN95 mask while in the building. If the volunteer does not have this type of mask, one will be provided.

Anyone who wishes to volunteer at a PCSSD school must complete a volunteer application prior to any assignment. This includes a background check conducted online at no cost to the volunteer. PCSSD partnered with Background Investigation Bureau to provide secure backgrounds checks for all volunteers.

Click here to fill out the volunteer application.

Once your background check is complete we will review and notify you by email when you have been approved. You will also receive a Secure Volunteer ID card by mail. The background check is done once every three years and your card will have the expiration date on it to remind you.

Volunteers must submit their hours for each day of service for a school. Every school has its own volunteer submission form.

PCSSD hosts an award breakfast every year to show our appreciation for our parent, grandparent and community volunteers. The volunteer breakfast honors those that have contributed 50 or more hours during the school year. This event is typically held in April every year.
