PULASKI COUNTY, Ark. -- The Arkansas Democratic Black Caucus is honoring the Pulaski County Special School District Assistant Superintendent for Equity and Pupil Services, Dr. Janice Warren as someone who has positively impacted the state. She is being recognized as the Thomas E. Patterson Education Award winner.

"To be recognized for this prestigious award is an honor as well as a humbling experience,” said Dr. Warren. “It's humbling because I am being recognized for what I love doing, serving others. Striving to make a difference for others is my purpose and my passion."

  • Fight Forward Arkansas Founder and Executive Director Keidra Phillips-Burrell
  • Office of Health Equity and HIV Elimination Director Dr. Michelle R. Smith. 

Meanwhile, Arkansas Army National Guard (Ret.) Colonel Erica Ingram is being recognized with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The King Kennedy Awards was established in 2005 to honor and recognize outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to their communities and our great state.

A portion of the proceeds will go to provide two scholarships to deserving students at the four Arkansas HBCUs - including Arkansas Baptist College, Philander Smith College, Shorter College, and the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.

The 18th Annual King Kennedy Awards on Saturday, February 19, at 6 p.m. at the Venue at Windsong, 7318 Windsong Drive in North Little Rock.
