Special Education Department to destroy outdated files

Beginning July 1, 2019 the Special Education Department of the Pulaski County Special School District will start to destroy special education records which are six years old or more. According to State and Federal guidelines, special education records should be destroyed within six years after a student leaves the program.

If you are a former student of PCSSD and received special education services during the school year of 2012-2013, you have the right to receive your records before they are destroyed. If you are a student and requesting your records you must be eighteen years old or older.

Special Education records will be available for pick up April 29 through June 28, 2019 at  the following address: 3924 Neely Road, Little Rock, AR 72206. The days and hours for pick up through May 31 are Monday through Friday 8:30-3:30. Days and hours for pick up June 3 through July 25 are Monday-Thursday 7:30-4:30. The Special Education Dept. will be closed on Fridays during the summer months.  Call ahead at least 24 hours in advance to provide notice of your request for pick up. Please bring your identification card with you. If you have questions about your records, you may contact Natalie Madison for School-Age records at (501) 234-2417 or Michelle Walker for Early Childhood Special Education records at (501) 234-2436.
