Mills to host health symposium, free immunizations

During the months of July and August, the Baptist Health Community Immunization Program administers free immunizations to school-aged children and free physicals to preschool-aged children in under-served communities. On Saturday, July 29, from 9 a.m. until noon, they will be a the Fourth annual Sweet Home Community Initiative Health Symposium. This free event will be hosted at Wilbur D. Mills University Studies High School (1205 East Dixon Rd, Little Rock). In addition to the immunizations, this event will offer:

  • School/sports screenings
  • Vital signs
  • Healthy nutritional choices
  • Oral hygiene tips
  • Hand washing with "Glow Bug"
  • Hair cuts and nail polishing
  • First aid techniques
  • School closet for those in need
  • Food
  • Diabetes Education
  • Asthma Compliance
  • Music
  • Community educational vendors
  • School supplies (for screening participants only)
  • Games
  • Cholesterol testing (for adults)
  • Photo booth
  • Parenting tips with Dr. Mease (books provided, while supplies last)
  • YouthMax at 9:30 and 11 a.m.
