PCSSD is a Member of the Arkansas Teacher Retirement System. Mandatory 6% employee contribution and 14% District contribution.

Arkansas law requires a three-year probationary period.

Tenure granted with completion of three years of teaching, at least one of which must be with the District.

Annual Leave Time

  • Sick leave: 10 days
  • Personal leave: 2 days

National Board Certified Teachers

In addition to the $5,000 annual bonus from the Arkansas Department of Education, the District gives an annual bonus of $3,000 for National Board Certified Teachers, for a period of up to 10 years, while employed by the District.

Personnel Policies

Employees of PCSSD are represented by Personnel Policy Committees for both certified and classified staff. These committees recommend policies to the Board and are actively involved in establishing Personnel Policies for the District.
