Book Fair Notes

The recent Follett Book Fair held in January went very smoothly but didn’t make enough money to purchase all the robots we had hoped to. No worries, we’ll just keep saving until we get enough! Several children used the Drop-Ship option to purchase kneadable erasers that we ran out of. Follett was supposed to ship them to us within 4 business days. A month later, and we’re still waiting! My sincerest apologies. I’ve sent the company several emails and they promise that they’re trying to figure out what happened! I’ll deliver the items as soon as they get here!

Pine Forest/Maumelle Middle & High School Family Night “Breaker Space”

Ever wanted to take apart a clock? A toaster? A printer? Curious about “what’s inside?” Then the “Breakerspace” is for you! Bring screwdrivers! Bring your curiosity! An adult must accompany children under 18 - no drop-offs. Last year Sonic donated hot dogs! This year, who knows? The 2nd Annual Maumelle Feeder Pattern “Breakerspace” is Tuesday, April 7, 5:30-7:00 p.m. in the Maumelle Middle School Library!

Student Council Garden Project

The Student Council was granted permission to make a School Garden! But it will take some work! Mrs. Jones & DW will oversee the Garden Project, but the Student Council members are expected to gather the supplies! An official letter was given to each of the members that contained items needed and local businesses that might help. Parents who wish to help may contact DW or Mrs. Jones.

Literacy Night

PFE is celebrating Reading Thursday, March 5th with a Book Character Parade at 8:00am and Literacy Night from 5:30-7:00pm. Plan to attend for lots of fun activities. All family members are invited. Book character costumes can be worn on March 5th, both to school and to literacy night, but not required! Please make sure costumes are “school appropriate.” Also, if you have books to donate for bookwalk please send them to school.

AR Reading Contest

1st-5th Grade classes are competing through AR. Thank you for encouraging
your child to read and take AR tests. The competition ends soon, on March 13th, and the winning classes will be recognized at the 3rd nine week honor assemblies on Tuesday, March 31, 2020.
