PCSSD superintendent helps save bees from demolition

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – The Pulaski County Special School District decided that one of their oldest buildings needs to come down; however, the superintendent wants to preserve one part of the school.

Pulaski County Special School District Superintendent Dr. Jerry Guess isn’t afraid of honey bees or the hundreds like it inside the old Scott Junior High School.

Bee colony prevents school demolition

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – One school building should have been torn down Thursday, but thanks to a colony of bees, it still stands.

Pulaski County Special School District superintendent Jerry Guess said a colony of bees surrounding Scott Junior High School is what kept the demolition from happening. He said the bees are endangered, so they’re taking every precaution to remove them safely.

Shining Stars at Jacksonville High School

JACKSONVILLE, Ark. (KTHV) — The spotlight shined brightly at Jacksonville High School Friday as teachers and staff were honored for making a difference in students’ lives.

THV’s Liz Massey had the honor of emceeing the Shining Stars of Excellence Awards Ceremony; she is a graduate of JHS. This is the second year for the awards.

Food Network judge Maneet Chauhan puts 3 students to the test

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) — Three North Pulaski High School students were put to the test in front of a Food Network judge.

A contest was held was part of a national program, called Pro-Start, which is geared toward developing the best and brightest talent into tomorrow’s restaurant and foodservice leaders.
