Young men of Sylvan Hills High recognized for purposeful living

Sylvan Hills High School hosted a reception on Monday to recognize 50 young men, grades 9-11, for their work on character education and reducing the achievement gap at their school. Dr. Walter Milton, CEO of From the Heart Educational Services, has been working with these young men on The Purposeful Living Project for Young People. The goal of this club is to increase participation to 100 young men during the first semester of the 2013-14 school year.

The Sylvan Hills High School EAST Conference Team students received a superior rating at the 2013 National EAST (Environmental and Spacial Technology) Initiative Conference recently.

Sylvan Hills High cosmetology students give back

Cosmetology students at SYLVAN HILLS HIGH SCHOOL participated in a charity event on February 14. Their clients were a group of young ladies with special disabilities from the Little Rock Parks and Recreation’s Therapeutic Recreation Center. The student’s had the privilege of doing hair, makeup and nails for the girls for the Valentine Dance they attended last evening at the center.

Two PCSSD volleyball teams get shot at post season

Congratulations to the NORTH PULASKI HIGH and SYLVAN HILLS HIGH volleyball teams! Both of these squads qualified for the state playoffs. We appreciate the hard work and determination of the athletes and their coaches!
