North Pulaski High School band director Karen Dismuke was recently chosen as the 2012 Arkansas Bandmasters Association Bandmaster of the Year. Dismuke was honored as the 38th recipient of this award at the annual Arkansas Bandmasters Association Conference held July last week in Fort Smith, Ark. The ABA Bandmaster of the Year Award is the highest career honor bestowed upon a band director in the state of Arkansas.
NORTH PULASKI HIGH SCHOOL recently participated in the “Every 15 Minutes” Program, an educational experience that reminds us all of the dangers associated with driving while impaired and texting.
The North Pulaski High School Competitive Speech Team competed at the Arkansas State Communication Theater Arts Association state Tournament on April 20 and 21. The team did an outstanding job and brought home the following awards:
Teresa Perkins, program coordinator of Simply Delicious Restaurant located at North Pulaski High School, has been selected as Arkansas’s Educator Excellence Award Winner for 2012 from the Education Foundation of the National Restaurant Association (NRAEF). The NRAEF sponsors ProStart, the restaurant management and culinary arts program students at NPHS participate and compete in. (They placed second this year in the Management Division and third in Culinary at the state competition.) Perkins will be honored at an awards ceremony during the National Restaurant Associations Annual Trade Show to be held in Chicago May 4 – 7.
