Jacksonville High basketball standout signs to UCA

JACKSONVILLE HIGH SCHOOL center Tirrell Brown signed his National Letter-of-Intent to play basketball for the University of Central Arkansas during a Thursday morning ceremony at the JHS gym. Family, friends, teammates, classmates, coaches and faculty were on hand to witness the event.

Jacksonville High band members honor Dr. King

For the second time in their history, the Jacksonville High School Jukebox band was invited to perform at the Arkansas Martin Luther King Jr. Commission’s 44th Annual Commemorative Vigil due to their outstanding performances for the 2011-2012 school year and for their dedication to the community. The Jukebox Band was the only full band to attend this event.

Jacksonville High Jukebox Band to perform at vigil commemorating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The JACKSONVILLE HIGH SCHOOL Jukebox Band has been invited to perform at the Arkansas Martin Luther King Jr. Commission’s 44th Commemorative Vigil today, April 4. The commission will acknowledge Arkansas’ “Annual Youth Community Service Day” at this event.

PCSSD well represented at art competition

On Tuesday, March 13, 2012, art students from JACKSONVILLE HIGH, ROBINSON HIGH and MAUMELLE HIGH SCHOOL brought home awards from the 2012 AYAA (Arkansas Young Artist Association) Spring Competition and Convention, held at the State House Convention Center. Students’ works were entered into categories according to media and style, and were judged by college art teachers as well as professional artists. Awards were given in 66 areas, most containing well over 100 works of art in each group. Over 1,000 member students of the AYAA were in attendance from schools from all over the state.

Jacksonville High to host College and Career Fair

JACKSONVILLE HIGH will host its first annual College and Career Fair Wednesday, March 28, 2012 from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Media Center/CafeteriaThis fair is open to all students, family members, & community members within the Jacksonville area. This is great opportunity to gather information about many colleges, trade schools, & career paths.
