Cato Elementary student shares a strong bond with his mentor

SHERWOOD, Ark. (KATV) – An Arkansas man isn’t letting a minor deficiency hold him back; in fact, he’s using his wit and knowledge to help a future generation.

School isn’t a place every kid looks forward to attending on a daily basis, but then again not every school has a mentor like 30-year-old Patrick Aldridge from Sherwood.

PCSSD honors PALS volunteers at annual awards banquet

At a banquet/breakfast held at the Clinton Presidential Center Wednesday morning, hundreds of Pulaski County Special School District PALS (People Assisting Local Schools) volunteers were recognized for devoting over 135,000 hours assisting the almost 18,000 students in the district. Guest speaker was former PCSSD Superintendent Bobby Lester. Entertainment was provided by the Mills University Studies String Quartet and the North Pulaski High School Show Stoppers.

PCSSD to Host Career Fair on Friday

PULASKI COUNTY, AR — The Pulaski County Special School District will host a Career Fair this Friday to recruit employees for the 2013-2014 school year.

According to Shawn Burgess, the district’s director of human resources, employment opportunities are available for certified teachers, substitute teachers, paraprofessionals, transportation staff, custodial staff, adult education staff and food service staff.
