ALERT: Pick up of students due to flooding

Due to local flooding and road closures, some Pulaski County Special School District buses may not be able to get students home in a safe and timely manner this afternoon. For that reason, the District is allowing parents to pick up students at the following schools who live in flood prone areas, and excused absences will be granted:

Cato gets a makeover!

Arkansas Democrat-Gazette/KAREN E. SEGRAVE 8/3/11 Shanon (cq) Hum, a second-grade teacher at Cato Elementary in Sherwood puts a coat of bright, blue paint onto the entry way doors on Wednesday afternoon. Hum, along with other teachers, parents and volunteers worked on Wednesday to get the school ready for the new year which starts on Monday, August 15.

Cato Elementary in Sherwood is getting ready for students to return to class.

With the help of the CATO ELEMENTARY community, the school is getting a back-to-school makeover! Principal Shyrel Lee mentioned the school needed sprucing up and immediately First Grade Teacher Shanon Hum partnered with PTA President Samia Johnston to make it happen.
