Jacksonville High band members honor Dr. King

For the second time in their history, the Jacksonville High School Jukebox band was invited to perform at the Arkansas Martin Luther King Jr. Commission’s 44th Annual Commemorative Vigil due to their outstanding performances for the 2011-2012 school year and for their dedication to the community. The Jukebox Band was the only full band to attend this event.

Jacksonville High Jukebox Band to perform at vigil commemorating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The JACKSONVILLE HIGH SCHOOL Jukebox Band has been invited to perform at the Arkansas Martin Luther King Jr. Commission’s 44th Commemorative Vigil today, April 4. The commission will acknowledge Arkansas’ “Annual Youth Community Service Day” at this event.

Northwood Middle and North Pulaski High music programs excel at assessments

Congratulations to the NORTHWOOD MIDDLE SCHOOL choirs and the NORTH PULASKI HIGH SCHOOL concert/show choir. These choirs participated in the Central Region Choral Performance Assessment last week at Searcy High School. The seventh-grade NWMS Intermediate Girls Choir received four Division One ratings of Superior Performance. The seventh- and eighth-grade NWMS male chorus not only received four Division One ratings of Superior Performance, they also were the highest scoring male chorus for the entire Region Assessment.

Jacksonville High set to open renovated media center and art gallery

JACKSONVILLE HIGH SCHOOL invites you to be our special guest at “For the Love of the Arts,” Thursday, March 1, 2012, in the JHS Media Center starting at 6 p.m. This reception is being held to recognize the JHS Fine Arts program, and to celebrate the opening of our newly renovated media center and art gallery. This event will feature student artwork in various media and, student performances from the jazz ensemble band, jazz choir, and drama department. Angie Mitchell, Chair of the Jacksonville Arts Council, will give a solo performance as well.

PCSSD well represented at All-State Concerts

The All-State Clinic began last night and will culminate in the All-State Concerts in the Hot Springs Convention Center. To be selected as an All-State Orchestra, Band or Choir student, you must compete in your region and then go on to compete against the best in the state, making this a great honor. Thirteen very talented PCSSD students will represent our District at the All-State Clinic.
