Established in 2003, students in the SYLVAN HILLS HIGH SCHOOL EAST program have attended nine national conferences. In those nine years, the program has been awarded a superior rating (the highest possible rating) many times. This year, however, not only did SHHS receive a superior, they were awarded a perfect score of 50/50!
In addition to the overall program rating of Superior, juniors Maddy White and Amber Wagner won a trophy for our school and $150 for the submission of their augmented virtual reality project involving chemistry elements. This competition was about showcasing information, an object, or a process that may be too expensive, large, hard to see or understand without the use of augmented reality. The students were presented the award based on the creative and unique ways they showcased their augmented reality and the their thorough documentation of the different ways in which people have experienced their final product.
