PCSSD to hold annual report to the public meeting

Open Meeting to Include Overview of District Activities, Public Comment

The Pulaski County School District will hold a public meeting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, in the board room of the district’s central office to share its Annual Report to the Public.

The report, required by The Arkansas State Board of Education, is presented to the public and then shared in a general circulation newspaper by November 15 of each school year.
Deborah Roush, the district’s executive director of communications, said the report is typically presented in a meeting of the board of education, but because no board is meeting due to the district being placed in fiscal distress and under state control, this meeting will be held independently.

“We want to be transparent in all that we do, even though we are not having regularly scheduled board meetings,” Roush said.

At the meeting, PCSSD Superintendent Jerry Guess will provide an overview of the last year’s activities regarding every aspect of the district, from facilities to curriculum.
Roush said the district will also provide an opportunity for those in the public who want to comment on issues related to district activities or specifics related to the Annual Report.”

The district’s central office is located at 925 E. Dixon Road in Little Rock. For more information, please call 501-234-2000.
