After reviewing weather and road conditions PCSSD administrators, transportation team members and weather forecasters have concluded that roads in the county are safe and passable. All PCSSD schools will open at their regularly-scheduled times.
Proposed changes to Professional Development requirements would allow teachers to spend more time on specialized classes and less time on redundant courses.
UPDATE: Pre-registration for the Scholars Program at MILLS U.S. HIGH SCHOOL scheduled for this evening for current ninth- and 10th-grade students has been postponed due to weather conditions. It is rescheduled for Tuesday, February 26, 2013, from 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. in the Commons (cafeteria).
Pre-registration for the Scholars Program at Mills University Studies High School begins this evening, Tuesday, February 19, 2013. This will be for current Scholars Program students, as well as eighth-grade students currently in the Talented and Gifted Specialty Program in middle schools who want to be in the Scholars Program as a ninth-grade student.
Last month, several Wilbur D. Mills University Studies High School student-athletes competed against an elite field of athletes from NCAA Division I schools then follow it up with an impressive showing at the 5A-7A State Indoor Track Meet.
