JICG: Smoking by Students

(Other Tobacco Uses)

The Board recognizes its obligation to provide the most healthful possible environment for its students and to educate students in regard to those practices which constitute a hazard to their health. The Board further recognizes that health authorities are agreed that the use of tobacco in any form poses such a hazard and, therefore, prohibits student use, possession and control of any tobacco products or tobacco related substances on District property, including school buses, at anytime.

The Superintendent is directed to provide regulations for the administration of this policy and to so inform students and their parents.
