North Pulaski High learns dangers of impaired and distracted driving

NORTH PULASKI HIGH SCHOOL recently participated in the “Every 15 Minutes” Program, an educational experience that reminds us all of the dangers associated with driving while impaired and texting.

The Jacksonville Police Department, specifically Officers Jennifer Thrasher and Grant Roberts, worked hard over the last several months to put this together working with the school’s Drama, EAST and stagecraft departments.

During the day on April 19, a student was pulled from class Every 15 minutes and their obituary was read by a police officer. They were returned to class dressed in black with “death make-up” on and instructed not to interact with anyone for the remainder of the day.

An assembly was held that afternoon where the juniors and seniors witnessed a mock drunk-driving crash in which rescue crews demonstrated exactly what happens at a crash scene.
