Dr. Janice Warren, interim superintendent of schools for the 2017-2018 school year, began her tenure with the Pulaski County Special School District in July 2012 as the director of elementary education. The following year she became PCSSD's assistant superintendent for Equity and Pupil Services. Dr. Warren is a longtime educator who served the Crossett School District in Arkansas for 33 years, most recently as its superintendent. She was also a teacher, principal and assistant superintendent. Dr. Warren earned her doctorate degree in curriculum and supervision from Nova Southeastern University, a master's degree in elementary education from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and a bachelor's degree in elementary education from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.
She is the mother of one son, Jimmy Warren II, who resides in Conway, Ark., with his wife, Shakira, and their children Amaya and Alivia.
Dr. Warren brings to her job a positive attitude, willingness to serve and eagerness to lead faculty and staff to ensure student success.
