Below is the information for the 2011-2012 Maumelle Middle School uniform policy dress code is enforced from the loading/unloading during transportation to/ from school. All garments must be hemmed and no visible holes including distressed fabrics will be allowed. It is MMS’s intention to treat both male and female students equitably in terms of the dress code and student appearance.
Pants
- Black, blue, khaki or denim pants are allowed (no logos or designs)
- Straight-leg, cuffed pants or flared pants are permitted
- Sweatpants or jogging pants are not allowed on campus (this also applies to all sports)
- No hiking pants, cargo pants or cut-off denim shorts with fraying along the hems may be worn
- No distressed (i.e. holes, frayed areas appearing to be holes) may be worn
- All pants are to be appropriately sized to eliminate bagging and sagging as well as overly tight fitting clothing
Shirts (polo or button-up)
- Shirts must have collars
- Shirts must not be sheer or low-necked
- Shirts must be a solid color
- Logos are acceptable but must be smaller than a quarter. Large logos are not allowed
- Maumelle Middle School or Maumelle High School school shirts may be worn at any time
- All shirts must be appropriately sized (students may not tie or twist their shirts)
- All t-shirts and undershirts (camisoles) must be of a solid color
- Camisoles must not show at the chest, but may show at the shirt tail
Sweaters or sweatshirts
- Any solid color
- No logos
- Sweater or sweatshirts must be a cardigan, a pullover or have a zipper
- No hoods will be worn at any time in the building
Skirts, shorts, skorts and jumpers
- Colors: khaki, blue or black (no logo or designs)
- No hiking shorts or cargo shorts
- These are to be no shorter than 2 inches above the kneecap
- Appropriately sized to eliminate bagging and sagging
- Leggings may be worn with any item that meets the dress code
Shoes and socks
- Any color
- No house shoes, flip flops or slides
- Students who change their shoes during the day will be disciplined
- Sandals must be worn with a heel-locked strap
Accessories
- No hats are allowed on campus (students may not bring hats to school)
- No head scarves or headbands
- No scarves
- No sunglasses
Coats and jackets
- Any color
- Not to be worn when weather is warm
- Students should place coats and other accessories inside their locker upon arrival at school
- No blankets or pillows will be allowed
- No hoods will be worn at any time in the building
