Below is the information for the 2012-2013 Maumelle Middle School Uniform Policy. Dress code is enforced from the loading/unloading during transportation to/from school. All garments must be hemmed and no visible holes including distressed fabrics will be allowed. It is MMS’s intention to treat both male and female students equitably in terms of the dress code and student appearance.
Pants
- Black, blue or khaki pants or blue or black denim pants are allowed
- No logos or designs
- Straight leg, cuffed pants, or flared pants are permitted.
- Sweatpants or jogging pants are not allowed on campus. This also applies to all sports.
- No pajama pants
- No hiking pants or cargo pants
- No distressed pants (i.e. Holes, frayed areas appearing to be holes or fraying on the hem may not be worn).
- All pants are to be appropriately sized to eliminate bagging and sagging.
- Overly tight fitting pants are not allowed.
- Leggings or jeggings may be worn with shorts, skirts or a skort item that meets the dress code. Leggings or jeggings may not be worn by themselves.
Skirts, shorts, skorts and jumpers
- Colors: khaki, blue, or black or blue or black denim is allowed.
- No hiking shorts, cargo shorts, or athletic/gym shorts are allowed.
- Cut-off denim or other material with fraying along the hems may not be worn.
- No distressed material (i.e. holes, frayed areas appearing to be holes or fraying on the hem may not be worn).
- Skirts, shorts, skorts, or jumpers are to be no shorter than 2 inches above the kneecap.
- Appropriately sized to eliminate bagging and sagging.
- Overly tight fitting skirts, shorts, skorts, or jumpers are not allowed.
Shirts (polo or button-up)
- Shirts must be a solid color.
- Shirts must have collars.
- Shirts must have a fully enclosed sleeve.
- Shirts must not be sheer or low-necked.
- Logos are acceptable but must be smaller than a quarter. Large logos are not allowed.
- Maumelle Middle School or Maumelle High School shirts may be worn at any time. Oak Grove High School shirts are no longer permitted.
- All shirts must be appropriately sized. Students may not tie or twist their shirts.
- All t-shirts and undershirts (camisoles) must be of a solid color. Camisoles must not show at the chest, but may show at the shirt tail.
Sweaters or sweatshirts
- Any solid color
- No logos except Maumelle Middle School or Maumelle High School. Oak Grove High School sweaters or sweatshirts are no longer permitted.
- Sweater or sweatshirts may be cardigans, pullover, or have a zipper.
- No hoods will be worn at any time in the building.
Shoes and socks
- Any color.
- No house shoes, flip flops, slides, or skeleton shoes are allowed. Students will be disciplined who change their shoes during the day.
- Sandals must be worn with a heel-locked strap.
Accessories
- No hats are allowed on campus (Students may not bring HATS to school).
- No head scarves or headbands
- No scarves
- No sunglasses
- No bags may be used a purses. Purses should be compact.
Coats and jackets
- Any color.
- Not to be warn when weather is warm
- Students should place coats and other accessories inside their locker upon arrival at school. No coats or jackets may be worn in the classroom.
- No blankets or pillows will be allowed.
- No hoods will be worn at any time in the building.
Backpacks
Only clear or mesh backpacks or book bags will be allowed on campus. All unauthorized backpacks and book bags will be confiscated and may be picked up at the end of the day.
