To facilitate this process, the IT staff asks that teachers and school administrators take the following steps to ensure that they have access to the equipment they need.

Teachers and students will need to backup their document and application files to a flash drive before the last day of school. Information Technology will be replacing computers and will be updating systems this summer. All data WILL BE LOST if you don’t backup your files and will not be available for access when you return to school. Information Technology will not be responsible for lost data. If you do not know how to back up your data, please contact the IT Department Help Desk at 501.234.2150 and the staff will be happy to assist you. Should your situation require a work order, one of the Help Desk Staff will enter it for you.

Leave computers, printers and other associated hardware plugged into the power source and plugged into the internet drop. DO NOT cover your computers. DO NOT obstruct access to your computer (i.e. nothing stored underneath, beside or on top of tables which will prevent access to the computer, power outlets or internet drop).

Computers (including Notebook Computers) MAY NOT be moved in the building nor removed from the building for any reason without the express authority of Instructional Technology and a work order to the Technology Help Desk by calling 501.234.2150.

Mobile carts and their contents (e.g. IPads, IPod Touches and Laptops) must be stored in a secure area that can be accessed by IT during the summer.

We appreciate your cooperation, have a great summer!

Public meeting regarding Oak Grove High School property scheduled

Community

Facilities

Maumelle

Oak Grove High
<guid

The presentation of a trophy and cash award by Dustin Davis, Arkansas Green Schools Committee Chair, was held this morning honoring the team in the Central Office Board Room. The theme of their project was, “Dude, It’s Not That Hard,” in which they began a recycling program at the school last fall. First to go were the Styrofoam trays in the cafeteria. Students and staff continued their efforts with the recycling of paper and paper products all through the school year, along with hosting an electronics recycling drive (e-drive) on March 2. Along with their advisor’s, Sandra Leiterman, Jessica Kaplan and April Ball, the team of students came up with ideas, documented their resource savings and produced a five-minute video for judging by an impartial panel on March 15.

The U.S. Green Building Council- Arkansas Chapter (USGBC) and the Arkansas Association of Educational Administrators (AAEA) challenges schools to form a team to green their school. Their goal is to empower students and communities to be good stewards of their own environments. “By promoting the design and construction of new green schools and by greening existing schools, we can all make a tremendous impact on improving student performance and health, while decreasing operational costs and protecting the environment.” For more information, visit <a
