Sixth Grade TAG

1 4/5 pk dry erase markers (any color)

Optional but helpful for math class:
Calculators are provided in school, if you want to buy one, we use the TI-30X IIS, however a TI‐83 or TI-­84 can be used, as this is the same calculator that will (generally) be used through high school and college.
Compass (for drawing circles)
Protractor

Recommended for use at home: scissors, glue, dictionary, ruler, poster board, tri-­fold board

Either internet access must be provided at home, or student must have access to internet through a friend or the public library. Many homework and project assignments throughout the year require the use of internet.

We do project-based learning!! Students will need the following supplies at home during the year for projects:
rubber cement (better than glue)
double-stick scrapbook tape (for use as adhesive)
markers, crayons
construction/cardstock paper (as needed)
scissors
display board (as needed)
poster board (as needed)

Please have an extra ink cartridge available for printing assignments. The students will have access to the Media Center for printing and computer assignments during school hours. (Printing is 10 cents per page.)

Major projects and rubric instructions are posted on Ed-Line and assignment boards. Some assignments may be required to be submitted on line. Students also have access to the Media Center, and local libraries provide internet services for free.

We know that you will want to support your student in dealing with deadlines and rigorous course work! Hopefully the list will help in getting prepared for a fun and challenging year!
