PCSSD schools announce Back-To-School events

Below, you will find a list of the back-to-school events that have been announced by our schools as well as other important information, such as bell schedules for the 2013 school year, supply lists, uniform policies and bus routes.

If your school is not listed below, we have not received their back-to-school event plan. You may still get their bell schedule, school supply list, uniform policy and bus route information. Please check back, as more events are being added as they are received.

Elementary Schools

High Schools

Jacksonville High SchoolBus Routes
Bell schedule: 8:35 a.m. – 3:55 p.m.

Freshman Transition Camp: August 11th, 8:30 a.m. – Incoming freshman are invited to attend our Freshman Transition Camp. During this day, freshman will participate in get-to-know-you activities and team building exercises with each other and with the Freshman Academy teachers. Parents and students should arrive at 8:30 a.m. and report to the cafeteria to register for camp. Each student will also need to bring $5 to cover the cost of lunch. Parents, please return to the cafeteria at 3 p.m. to learn valuable information about the freshman year and about JHS Freshman Academy.

Freshman Summit Orientation: Saturday, August 11th at 3 p.m. – Jacksonville High School will hold a Freshman Summit in the JHS cafeteria. Parents and students will be able to meet their Freshman Academy teachers and counselors and receive information about ninth grade classes.

Senior Summit: Saturday, September 15 at 1 p.m. in the JHS cafeteria. Seniors and their parents are invited to attend the Senior Summit to learn valuable information about graduation requirements, scholarship and college opportunities and senior activities scheduled throughout the year. Teachers, administrators, counselors and staff will be present to help answer any questions you may have.

Junior Summit: Saturday, September 15 at 3 p.m. in the JHS cafeteria. Juniors and their parents are invited to attend the Junior Summit to learn valuable information about graduation requirements, scholarship and college opportunities, junior activities scheduled throughout the year and how to best prepare for their senior year. Teachers, administrators, counselors and staff will be present to help answer any questions you may have.

Sophomore Summit: Saturday, September 22 at 1 p.m. in the JHS cafeteria. Sophomores and their parents are invited to attend the Sophomore Summit to learn valuable information about graduation requirements and sophomore activities scheduled throughout the year. Teachers, administrators, counselors and staff will be present to help answer any questions you may have.

Friday, August 17, 2012:
8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. juniors and seniors can pick up schedules.
12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. sophomores and freshman can pick up schedules.
All students will need to bring $20 when picking up their schedules to cover the cost of ID badges, locker assignment and newspaper fees.

August 16, 2012: Comet Orientation for all grade levels
Time: 9th grade – 5 p.m.; 10th grade – 5:30 p.m.; 11th grade – 6 p.m.; 12th grade – 6:30 p.m.
Each grade level will begin in the auditorium at the above times. Parents and students will be able to meet principals, counselors and teachers. Students will receive ID bages, lockers, parking passes and schedules. Parents will recieve a wealth of information about the upcoming year. All are encourage to attend.
