Kennan Stallard of Jacksonville Middle School's EAST Program
An eighth-grader teaching high school students? It happened! The EAST classes at Jacksonville High School tried everything, but could not get their poster machine (plotter) to work. In true EAST style, the facilitator from the high school called the facilitator at Jacksonville Middle School. “Kennan Stallard is the student for the job,” was the answer. Stallard is an eighth- grade EAST student at JMS, and he taught a class of JHS EAST students how to print a poster. Way to go Kennan!
This is a great example of the many things EAST is about: community service, using technology to help solve real life problems, preparing students for both college and the business world, and most of all working together
