When information must be relayed throughout the District, the Communications Department springs into action – coordinating with our Transportation Department and District leaders about school closures, delays or other emergencies, for example. We then work closely with local media to distribute information to our staff, students and their families. We provide up-to-the-minute information via pcssd.org, facebook, twitter and our AlertNow telephone call-out system.
Our staff of three does much more than crisis management, however. We work diligently every day to portray a positive image of PCSSD, its students, staff and schools. We promote the District with well thought out, branded advertising campaigns, printed media and radio advertisements, press releases, media advisories and an ever-growing website.
The Communications Department is responsible for coordinating brochures, flyers and other collateral for the District and producing its annual calendar, which keeps parents informed of important school dates.
The Communications staff is looking for fun, interesting stories about our talented students and their impressive accomplishments in their classrooms and communities. If you know of a story that needs our attention, please contact us:
