Teacher Tech Tip #4: The subject line

Before you send an email, remember to take a moment to write a subject line that describes the content. Your message is not the only one in your recipient’s mailbox and people who get a lot of email will use the subject line to decide whether to open, forward, file, or trash a message. Use the Subject Line as an opportunity to inform or persuade your reader.

If you need a report to show student work from a term that has ended, open the weekly Edline report. At the top of the report preview use the drop down menu to select the term you need for the report.
If you need a report for the entire year, from the reports menu select Student and choose the Standard report. This will show grades for the entire year.

Teacher Tech Tip #2

Teachers, did you know you could share files with your colleagues by simply saving the files to the TEACHSHARE (S:) drive? So, what does this mean for you? It means you no longer have to wait for your colleagues to find those “missing” or “misplaced” flash drives to share files. Follow these simple steps to begin sharing:

  • With your file open, click “File> Save>”
  • When asked where to save your file, choose: “Desktop> Teachshare (s:)”
  • With “Teachshare” selected, type the desired file name and click “Save”

Please contact your Instructional Technology Specialist if you need assistance. Happy sharing!

Teachers, have you been to Arkansas IDEAS, lately? In addition to the professional development content already there, ADE will be adding video and content related to Common Core State Standards. If you need an account, contact Michelle Smith at msmith@pcssd.org or Susan Fletcher at sfletcher@pcssd.org. If you haven’t been to IDEAS lately, you need to check it out! If you’ve never been, get started!
