Mills High girl’s softball team supports breast cancer awareness

When the MILLS Comets Girls Softball Team played a conference double-header at Monticello last month, it was Monticello’s honorary game for the cure of breast cancer. Coach Glynn Nooner’s team joined in to help support the worthy cause – the players wore pink shirts and socks and instead of eating at a restaurant after the game, they chose to spend their money at Monticello’s concession stand as their way to help in the fund-raiser.

Jacksonville High basketball standout signs to UCA

JACKSONVILLE HIGH SCHOOL center Tirrell Brown signed his National Letter-of-Intent to play basketball for the University of Central Arkansas during a Thursday morning ceremony at the JHS gym. Family, friends, teammates, classmates, coaches and faculty were on hand to witness the event.

Sylvan Hills High Bears win 5A Basketball State Championship

On March 10, the SYLVAN HILLS HIGH SCHOOL Bears basketball team won the 5A state championship, which was held at The Summit Arena in Hot Springs! They defeated PCSSD rival MILLS U.S. HIGH SCHOOL Comets with a final score of 59-54. It was a close and exciting game for the Bears and Comets fans, as well as for basketball fans in general.

PCSSD schools to face off in 5A State Basketball Championship

After playing a tough regular-season schedule and three wins each in the 5A State Boys Basketball Tournament, two Pulaski County Special School District schools will meet in the Championship game.
