All elementary students (K – 5th grade) in the Pulaski County Special School District are required to comply with the Uniform Dress Code. New students to the district schools will be given two (2) weeks to comply with the PCSSD Uniform Dress Code (Board Policy Code JICA). The following is the Uniform Policy for Arnold Drive Elementary:
Shirts
- Red, White, and Navy polo style shirts and Navy or red school spirit T-shirt
- Short or long sleeves shirts with collars, solid-colored turtlenecks
- Shirts may be worn tucked in or out
Bottoms
- Colors: Khaki & Navy uniform-style bottoms
- Belted or elastic waist pants, walking shorts, or Capri-style uniform pants (no drawstring, cargo, or zip-off shorts or trousers)
- If belt loops are present, a brown or black belt must be worn
- Girls may wear uniform-style skirts, skorts, and jumpers
Shoes and socks
- The type and color of shoes and socks is left to the individual student and his parents/guardians
- No “heelies”, house shoes, mules (open-heeled shoes), sandals and flip flops, to ensure student safety
- Tennis shoes are strongly recommended
Winter clothing
- Plain red, white, or navy vests, blazers, or sweatshirts without logos (except for Arnold Drive Elementary logos) may be worn over the collared, turtleneck, polo, or buttoned down shirts
- All jackets and outerwear must be plain. No writing, designs, patterns, team names, etc. with the exception of the school logo
- Coats should be removed when in the building
Accessories
- Jewelry and accessories that constitute a safety hazard are not allowed
- All hats, caps, visors, and scarves may be worn outdoors only
Other guidelines
- No writing on any clothing item
- No athletic company names, designs, patterns, logos, or insignias (except school logo)
- No clothing considered too revealing, too tight, or allowing undergarments to show
- All students must wear a brown or black belt with all outfits having belt loops
