Photo of the day

Photo of the Day - Third-grade students in Mrs. Eddy’s gifted and talented class at COLLEGE STATION ELEMENTARY SCHOOL worked on team building skills last week through the Cup Stack Challenge. The challenge was for the group to build a pyramid out of the paper cups (3 on the bottom, 2 in the middle, 1 on the top). Group members could not touch the cups with their hands or any other part of their bodies, even if a cup fell over. Each person held onto one of the strings attached to the rubber band and they used this device to pick up the cups and place them on top of each other (by pulling the rubber band apart and then bringing it back together over the cups). This group of girls worked great together to reach their goal and completed the task in the fastest time. Great way to learn the advantages of teamwork!

A Word from our Superintendent

Dr. Jerry Guess in his office

Dear PCSSD families and staff,

Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year! These first weeks are exciting as students transition to new schools, classrooms or teachers. Whether you are a family with a kindergarten student just embarking on a lifetime of education, or a graduating senior, we know the year goes quickly, and we hope it is full of important learning, growing and transformation.

Please look around this website to find everything you need – from the name of your principal to a link to your school's website. If there's something you need help with, please reach out to us. If my office, in particular, can be of assistance, please call me at 501-234-2001.

We know you have choices when it comes to choosing a school, and we thank you for choosing PCSSD and public schools!

Jerry Guess, Ed.D.
