Photo of the day

Photo of the Day - The Wendy's High School Heisman was created by Wendy's founder Dave Thomas in 1994. Dave had a desire to celebrate the outstanding achievements of youth in America, so he launched the Wendy's High School Heisman program. Twenty-two years later, Wendy's High School Heisman has honored more than 600,000 of the nation's most esteemed high school seniors who share Wendy's values of giving back to their communities, treating people with respect, continuing education and excelling on the athletic field. There are some students who set the bar. They work harder, show more passion and lead by example in the classroom, on the field and within the community. Seniors Cameron Porras and Abby Grimes were recently named the Wendy's High School Heisman winners for MAUMELLE HIGH SCHOOL, recognizing their dedication to never cutting corners. These students are known by their teachers and friends for their commitment to excellence and leadership. Congratulations Abby and Cameron for not only reflecting positively on MHS, but on all of PCSSD!

A Word from our Superintendent

Dr. Jerry Guess with students

Dear PCSSD families and staff,

The 2016-2017 school year is well under way, and we are proud of the teaching and learning happening in our classrooms across the district. When I visit our schools, I witness students engaged in technology, enthusiastic teachers leading classes and terrific programs. With students flourishing in everything from fine arts to football and everything in between, our schools are literally buzzing with students in action.

Whether you are a family with a kindergarten student who is embarking on a lifetime of education, or one with a senior looking forward to graduation in May, we know the school year goes quickly, and we hope it is full of important learning, growing and transformation.

We hope our website has everything you need – from the name of your principal to a link to your school's website. If there's something you need help with, please reach out to us. If my office, in particular, can be of assistance, please call me at 501-234-2001.

We know you have choices when it comes to choosing a school, and we thank you for being part of PCSSD and public schools!
